Rick graduated from Marquette University in 1986 with a bachelor's degree in history/education, and received his Master of Divinity degree from Canadian Theological Seminary in 2000. He was ordained by the Evangelical Free Church of America in January of 2004.
Pastor Rick has several years of pastoral experience: He served as a youth pastor in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (1989-1998), as an interim pastor in Regina, Saskatchewan (2000-2001), as a church planting pastor in Sonoita, Arizona (2001-2003), and as senior pastor of Grace Community Evangelical Free Church in Schiller Park, Illinois (2003-2005).
Rick enjoys relating with people, spending time with his family, sports, riding his motorcycle and getting involved in community activities.
The congregation is grateful that God brought the Smiths to the church and are thankful for their ministry with us in the Westmark community.
